BIBLICAL AND SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY
We affirm, honor and respect the scriptures as our rule and standard for faith and practice. We further affirm, honor, respect and submit to spiritual leadership. In the wisdom of God, God has always appointed spiritual leaders (Moses, Joshua, David, Deborah, the Apostles, etc.) and vested them with authority to rule. As followers of Jesus Christ, we belong to a new Kingdom: the Kingdom of God. This kingdom is governed by God, God’s laws and God’s leaders. Believers are called to submit to the authority of God’s leaders who oversee the communities of God’s people.

CONGREGATIONAL CARE
We believe that life-giving ministry flows through Godly relationships rather than corporate structures. Structures provide order and define roles, but relationships empower our lives. We are cared for by God and called to care for others. When God creates supernatural relationships to make us more effective-if they are honorably maintained, they can empower and enable us to fulfill God’s calling. Congregational care is the commitment that you will be cared for and will be called upon to care for others through authentic life-giving relationships.

SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINES
We practice spiritual disciplines to bridge the gap between word and deed, belief and action, morality and ethics. Spiritual disciplines involve the intentional practice of prayer, bible study, worship, giving, service, submission, fasting, solitude which nurture the life of the Spirit in every believer.

RELEVANT WORSHIP
We are committed to being a church that reveres and celebrates the Glory of God and honors God’s presence in the world. Worship is a physical demonstration of the spiritual realities in our hearts. Our physical actions in praise and worship reflect the surrendering of our hearts to God.

SPIRITUAL GIFTS
We empower the Spirit-given gifts and passions of our members. We attempt to validate, equip, encourage, publicly acknowledge and empower the Spirit-given gifts and passions in the fellowship.

SPIRITUAL MATURITY AND TRANSFORMATIONAL DISCIPLESHIP
We make the personal decision to live our faith as a visible and tangible demonstration of the rule of God in every area of our lives. We provide the structure and framework for facilitating this practice.

SOCIAL JUSTICE
We believe that based upon the scriptures and our African American heritage that we are called to live reflectively and responsively. We believe that God requires us to love, affirm, speak and respond to the needs of the poor, marginalized, and disenfranchised.

A BIBLICAL CULTURE OF PEACE AND HARMONY
We make it our goal to practice a biblical culture of peace by endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. The scripture is the ultimate source of all teaching, training, planning, accountability, and conflict resolution.

EVANGELISM
We are committed to winning the lost at any cost. We believe that according to the scriptures, it is not God’s will that anyone should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

GLOBAL IMPACT
We believe that we are called to be a church of global impact by extending the Christian witness to the ends of the earth and making Christ's presence known to the uttermost parts of the world.
